Introduction to Adobe Illustrator

Pen tool. That's the first thing that we learn on our first class, yeap. Well before that, he explained the general about module outline and a little brief about exercises and assignments in the module, how our tasks are collected, and that we have to be aware about the deadline for each assignments that are given.

After that, we have an exercise about creating a character with only using eight shapes in vormator elements.

Fig 1.1 Vormator Elements

Then we started doing the exercise with using Pen Tool to trace the shapes, and this is what i come up with at first.

Fig 1.2 The character that i came up with

I think it's not bad from the proportions of it and how i use the pattern for the horns and hand glove to make it look more "pop up".

But wait. What do you knoww, we have to save it as an .ai file too, I tought only as JPEG, Great. Another One

Fig 1.3 The Second go at it, I call it "Kittoro"

So, I come up with something Totally Original. I added a waterbrush splash texture in his stomache and ears to make it has variations in it.
The purpose of this exercise is that to make us used to using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator and not wasting too many time in tracing something.

Lazercut Process

14/09/17 (Week 3)

This week we will be lazercutting our character design on a wood plank, we have to make our character design to the simplest form by ungrouping layers and release the compound paths and export is as a dfx file.

Fig 1.4 The black line indicates the outline and red ones are the lines that will be etched

After all of those were done, we were told to make our character design as a pokemon in the pokemon card layout.

I changed the lighting of it as the light came from behind, and add a little bit of details and all done.
